Suddenly, the ship shook like it had been hit (while still at warp). Power flickered and the ship went automatically to red alert. For those working nearby, the uneven power caused some chaos when EPS relays blew. In Holodeck 1, it created a rather dramatic event when Ensign Akala Helbrin’s program glitched and the handle she was gripping while swinging through an obstacle course blinked out of existence and she fell hard t o the ground. This coincided with a less than stellar safety catch from the safety protocols and only half her body landed on the forcefield and she rolled off it to the ground. Unfortunately, the ground was uneven rock and she yelped in pain as she landed face down. Everything spun around her and then went dark.
A minute later, she groaned and tried to push herself upright. The Napean managed to tap her commbadge. =/\=Enshen Akal-a to Shickbay. Holodeck… one. I… fell.=/\= Then she passed out again.

Ethan tapped his commbadge with one hand, automatically grabbing a nearby emergency medical kit with the other, as the call came in. “This is Cadet Koerner im on my way. Ensign? Can you hear me?” Swearing softly under his breath he hurried out of Sickbay, dodging the repair crews already triaging the blown relays in the hallway.
Reaching holodeck one Ethan tapped the console to open it. The door remained locked. “Computer override holodeck one lock, medical emergency, authorisation 7-8-0-3 Cadet Ethan Koerner.” The doors beeped and swung open. Ethan ran in taking out his Medical tricorder and began to scan the downed Ensign.
“Akala can you hear me? I’m just scanning you with a tricorder. Can you open your eyes for me?”Cadet Ethan Koerner
Doctor USS ChallengerDressed in a standard Starfleet issue t-shirt and shorts, she was still front down on the rocks, though she had her head turned to the left, making his even hovering over her slightly tricky. There wasn’t quite enough even ground for him to easily crouch or kneel. She grunted softly at his command and her lids fluttered but didn’t open.
The scan was not promising. There were rib fractures threatening her lungs, fractures to her legs as well as to her facial bones, not to mention contusions and lacerations. In fact, there was a thin trail of blood coming down the left side of the one rock her face hit but that her turned face was currently obscuring. What Ethan could see of her face right now as that her nose was clearly broken and she had definitely hit her forehead.
Currently her vitals seemed mostly stable, but it was hard to say long that would last. Her heart rate was definitely elevated though, but not dangerously at this point.
OOC: I can give more details on the specific injuries when we need them and how things progress. :)

“Ok then Akala, i’m just going to move you slightly then we can get you a bit more comfortable ok?” Ethan placed his medical bag and tricorder to one side and then gently moved the Ensign into the standard recovery position.
“Computer. Could you stop the current simulation and make it so Ensign Akala is on a standard biobed.” As the computer processed his request he started to examine what appeared to be the most pressing issue, the damage to her forehead.

Doctor USS ChallengerBejal was still relatively fresh faced and had allowed himself to be rattled for a moment by the hit but quickly calmed himself in the way he always had. By focusing on what was urgent. Listening to the comm chatter he quickly grabbed his own emergency medical kit and navigated the chaos towards the halo bay. The tall Trill carefully and cautiously entered the holodeck. Recognizing his fellow medical cadet moving the ensign into a recovery position he nodded bringing out his own medical tricorder.
“Came to see if you needed assistance. What’s the status?” He asked preparing to help but deferring to the first responder.
Cadet Bejal Sozenn
Doctor USS ChallengerEthan looked up briefly, acknowledging the new arrival as he finished scanning. “Looks like some rib fractures, leg fractures and a head wound i cant get a good look at. I think she must have fallen. I’ll keep her steady if you want to have a better look at the rib fractures.” Ethan said as he held the Ensigns body securely in place, making sure not to jostle her and cause any more damage.
“Computer can you clear an area around Ensign Akala while making sure not to move her in any way.” Ethan spoke out loud to the holodeck.
OOC: Adjusted the scene so im no longer moving her into the recovery position.
Cadet Ethan Koerner
Doctor USS ChallengerAkala moaned as Ethan held her but when the computer responded to the request, it was good he had secured her as the computer interpreted the request as removing the rocks since Akala was no longer lying on them and that meant that they could lay her on her back if that proved a safer position.
With her face now exposed, there was a laceration down the side of her face and was the source of the bleeding they had seen on the rock.
That Captain’s voice then came over the ship-wide comm: =^=All hands brace for emergency stop.=^=
The ships shuddered and then everything was still again.

Bejal knelled down next to the ensign opening his own emergency medical kit. As the rocks fell away he began grabbing for a dermal regenerator, seeing the depth of the laceration however he instead went for a autosuture. Handing it over to cadet Koerner who was in a better position to treat the head wound. Bejal took out his medical tricorder and began to scan and inspect the rib fractures.
Cadet Bejal Sozenn
Doctor USS ChallengerEthan took the autosuture with a nod and started treating the laceration. “Akala we’re treating you for your wounds now, you’ll start feeling better in a few moments. If you can try avoid moving for the moment that would be great. If you could say you understand, or tap your hand once on the floor if you find it difficult to talk that would be fantastic.”
Ethan looked over to Bejal. “How’s it looking there? Need a hand once i’m finished?”

Akala made no noise and had fallen unconscious again. The laceration was easily treated, but the underlying head trauma was too much to teat in the holodeck. As were the broken nose, leg fractures, and rib fractures. Bejal’s scan showed that two of the rib fractures were nearly open fractures and movement the wrong way threatened to puncture Akala’s lungs. There was a hairline fracture along her sternum as well.
