“My first posting!” Rhese Bowman thought to himself as he stepped foot onto the turbolift. Excitement was hardly the most appropriate word that could describe the flood of emotion racing through his mind; was it nervousness? Surely that was part of it too, he thought, as he fidgeted a bit. He looked down at his tunic and noticed it wasn’t quite perfect, and quickly made an adjustment so as to present himself as perfectly as possible to his superiors. Just then, the lift slowed to a halt and the doors hissed open, and Bowman stepped out with a quick pace, a sense of purpose driving each step he took, as he counted them in his mind – committing the route to memory. “Before long,” he thought to himself as he continued counting his steps, “I’m going to know this ship like the back of my –” and before he could finish the thought, he noticed he had arrived at the door to the Chief Science Officer’s office. “Huh! Only 32 steps from the turbolift!” he said aloud, before he noticed that he’d attracted a wondering look from a crewman who had happened to be walking by at that moment. Bowman nodded nervously towards the crewman, as a sheepish grin appeared on his face, and he reached out and pressed the chime to the CSO’s office.

OOC: Just to follow on what James mentioned, it takes a little bit of practice to remember. I always end up proof reading my post just before hitting submit and have noticed I would have accidentally left mine off if I didn’t read through it! Excellent post though! Also going to change the title to reflect your check in :)

IC: Looking through a PaDD of the most recent star charts and anomalies the ship has encountered over it’s recent years in service the Vulcan was studying and learning more about what the ship has done prior to his arrival to the Challenger. He paused and looked up towards the door and said with a commanding, yet reserved voice. “You may enter.” The office was rather barren at the moment with the lights only slightly lowered. There was a small bookcase behind the desk with a few books concerning thermodynamics, quantum physics, one concerning different types of radiation, and a few religious texts, clearly of Vulcan origin. Aside from a few items and PaDD’s on the desk there wasn’t much of anything to note in the room, though it was really clean.
