Sixteen crates of various sizes materialized into the cargo bay.

As Pilar entered the Cargo Bay, her gaze immediately fell upon the newly materialized crates. She counted them in her head.
“Sixteen crates,” she murmured to herself, “What could they possibly contain?”

She stepped on the transporter pad, and approached the nearest crate. With a careful hand, she traced the outline of its edges.

“Won’t know unless we open them.” said a new voice. Walking across the bay was a large, portly Bolian… the new Chief Engineer. He smiled and waved at Halcyone and said “You must be the XO. Sorry I haven’t met with you yet, on-boarding can be a bit hectic.” He looked at the crates and them pulled out a heavily modified tricorder. “I could probably get us a rough idea what’s in there with this.” he said, and began scanning a random crate.
