Aaron had been sitting back letting the two bounce the theory around for a bit, it was definitely an interesting thought. “It doesn’t hurt to ask Commander, though they may be a bit distracted staying ahead of whoever is attacking them.”

Shifting in his seat, Aaron looked over at the NE standing at Operations. “Send a request to the freighter, ask them if they’d be willing to share their sensor logs of the attacks with us.”

Capt Foley - CO

Dar nodded. “Good idea Captain. Do you need anything else from me right now? I’m not leaving the bridge or anything, just didn’t want to sit here and take up space is all.”
Sorazo Dar CNS

Even though he want addressing her, Pilar nodded at Dar. “Lieutenant Commander Dar, you must stay on the bridge. Your insights might prove crucial as we unravel this mystery.”

She turned her attention back to Captain Foley, a steely look in her gaze. “I guess we wait and see what that data can offer us and finding out what’s in that cargo.”

Halcyone, XO

“Agreed Commander. Until we know what we are up against, I’d like to have both of you available here on the bridge. In the meantime, Commander, can you check in with the team getting prepared for the cargo transfer?

“Helm, how long until the rendezvous?”

Capt. Foley - CO

“Twenty minutes, Captain,” the helmsperson said.

Understood, Captain. I’ll coordinate with the cargo transfer team and get an update on the rendezvous time.

Commander Pilar Halcyone
(Executive Officer)

“Roger that Captain and Commander. I’m still waiting on the cargo manifest. Which I deem odd considering the fact that we get information quickly when asked for.”. He turned back around in his chair and looked at his screen seeing if any new information has came.

Lt. Commander Sorazo Dar, CNS

OOC: I gave what details about the manifest there were WAY above. (In fact there is no manifest obtainable from Starfleet) and no one asked the Corvallen’s directly).
IC:
The freighter sent the readings, and it showed exactly what the Corvallen captain had described: that three different types of Orion ships had dropped suddenly out of warp and attacked without provocation. They did not stay too long though, just enough to inflict damage and then high tail it back to warp.

~Mischief Maker

Pilar’s eyes narrowed as she processed the information. “Captain Foley, it is as the Corvallen reported. It appears the Orion ships conducted a hit-and-run tactic. However why not stay, fight and take whatever they are after from the freighter?”

She addressed Lieutenant Commander Dar. “Dar, work with our intelligence officers to analyze the Orion attack patterns. We need to know if there are any discernible patterns or motives behind their actions.”

Pilar turned back to the Captain. “Captain, considering the nature of the attack, I recommend tightening security protocols during the cargo transfer. We should prepare for evasive maneuvers once we’re closer to the rendezvous point. If those Orion ships decide to make a return appearance, we should be ready.”

Pilar glanced at the tactical officer. “NE Bolt, keep an eye on our sensors. I want to know the moment those Orion ships even hint at coming back.”

Commander Pilar Halcyone
(Executive Officer)

Aaron tapped his chin, something was odd about the whole situation and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. At the same time, the scientist in him was still really interested to see what they had found at the site.

“Agreed XO. Not only that, our shields will be down during the transfer as well. So any advance notice we can get would definitely be beneficial. But as for why they aren’t staying after they attack, that is a great question. It definitely makes me feel that something is off about this whole situation, I just can’t put my finger on it.”

Capt Foley - CO

=/\=”Commander, we are ready to receive the supplies. Permission to beam over?”=/\= Demil requested over comms.

Lieutenant Demil Lis
Chief Science Officer

Fortunately for Lis, the Challenger found itself finally within range of the freighter who had just pulled out of warp. “Captain, the Jarot is hailing us,” NE Kevitz called out

~Mischief Maker

=^=Lieutenant Lis, hold your position. We’re receiving a hail from the Jarot.=^= Now in proximity of teleportation, Pilar fixed her gaze on the display, uncertainty coursing through her. Her eyes rested on Captain Foley, awaiting the command to bring the Jarot’s message to life onscreen.

Commander Halcyone
(Executive Officer)

“XO, full scan of the area if you would please. I want to know everything that is out there, and if it so much as sneezes. No surprises,” he said turning to look her in the eyes.

After a moment he nodded before turning back towards the viewscreen. “On screen Ensign.”

Capt Foley - CO

The Corvallen captain, Kutan, appeared, looking relieved. “Thank goodness you made it. Are you ready to take our cargo?” she asked, looking weary. “As it is, we had to push our engines to reach the rendezvous point so quickly. We’re going to have to stop and make repairs before we can go much farther ourselves. It’s imperative that the cargo reaches its destination at Memory Alpha.”

~Mischief Maker

“I’m glad that we could make it in time Captain. I have a team ready to come over and review the cargo before we bring it on board. Just provide us with transport coordinates and we can beam them over ASAP. In the meantime, is the cargo stable enough transport, or are we going to have to manually move it between our two ships?”

Capt Foley - CO

||It should be fine to transport as that was how we received it.|| The freighter captain turned at the hip and gestured. ||You should be getting coordinates now. Tell your team not to mind the mess. It is a cargo ship, after all,|| Kutan said with a weary smile.

And indeed, an NE called out. “Coordinates received, Sr.”

~Mischief Maker

Pilar nodded in acknowledgment as she considered the situation. “Thank you, Captain Kutan. We’ll ensure our team is ready for transport. Mess or not, we’re more concerned about the cargo’s integrity than the ship’s tidiness,” she replied with a reassuring smile.

Turning to the communications officer, Pilar gave a firm instruction. “Let Liuetenants Zunara and Lis know to prepare for transport. They will beaming over to the Corvallen ship to review the cargo. Make sure they bring the necessary equipment for a thorough assessment.”

As the team prepared for transport, Pilar couldn’t help but wonder about the nature of the cargo. Memory Alpha was a critical hub, and the urgency in Captain Kutan’s voice hinted at the importance of what they were carrying. Nevertheless, Pilar trusted transport officers’ expertise to handle any situation that might arise.

“Captain Kutan, if there’s any specific information or precautions about the cargo that we need to be aware of, please let us know. We want to ensure a smooth and secure transfer,” Pilar added, maintaining a professional yet cooperative tone.

Commander Halcyone
(Executive Officer)

Aaron nodded towards Pilar, all necessary questions.

“Any information you can share with us about the cargo would be appreciated Captain.”
