Zunara had not been Chief of Security on board the Challenger for too long; so it was safe to say that he was eager to get his hands dirty as soon as possible. That said, he wasn’t quite prepared for how far into the deep end he would be dropped. Within minutes of recieving a distress call from a Corvellian frieghter, the crew were preparing to transfer Federation supplies over to their ship.

With that in mind, Zunara and Lieutenant Demil Lis were now planning to put together an away team in order to recieve these supplies; Zunara had not had much experience in leading teams, but he was keen to prove himself to the Captain and XO. As they crossed into the Security Office, Zunara turned to Lis, “I think it would be prudent to have a member from each department on this away team Lieutenant, would you agree?”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

Demil was just as green as Zunara, having rarely even managed to be assigned to an away team on the Ark Angel, but he had read just about every procedures document and training book on the subject in the Federation. “I would agree,” he nodded. “Perhaps an extra member of security, just in case. And I believe as it seems a non-hostile situation, both of us should go as the most experienced in our fields.” He pulled out a PADD - one of the many the CSO always had nearby - and started on a list of personnel on the team.

“Cadet Hayden, graduated the year below me, hell of a tactician, I’d be happy having him on our team if you are.”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

“Not a problem,” Demil agreed. “Cadet Tara Zayin from science - one of my research group leaders?”

Lieutenant Lis, CSO

“Agreed, we better get underway, unless there’s anything else?”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

“No, I don’t believe there is,” Demil stated. He tapped his combadge, =/\=”Lis to Zayin, report to the security office with a tricorder, please.” A few minutes later, the aforementioned cadet hurried in the door, a tricorder on her belt. “Reporting as ordered, sir?”

“How do you feel about your first crack at an away mission Cadet?” Zunara said with a grin.

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

(OOC: Oops, sorry!)

IC: “Away mission?” she mouthed silently, then nodded, breaking into a grin. “Yes, sir. When do we leave?”

“Immediately,” Demil said, glancing over to Zunara. “Have Cadet Hayden meet us in the transporter room?” He confirmed, putting away his PADD in exchange for a tricorder. “I’d prefer to have as much time as possible in case something goes awry.”

Pilar’s voice came through the comm, “Lieutenant Zunara, Lieutenant Lis, this is Commander Halcyone with an update. We have requested sensor data from the freighter. The Captain has also requested that we inspect the cargo once it’s aboard. Ensure you are prepared for this task.”

“I suggest we head to the transporter room,” Demil said, already pointed towards the door.

“Agreed,” Zunara nodded, falling in step behind Lis.

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

=/\=”Commander, we are ready to receive the supplies. Permission to beam over?”=/\= Demil requested as the 4 arrived at the transporter room, triple checking his gear as he did so.

Zunara arched an eyebrow, a noticable second line of worry forming near his facial ridge, “Now what?” he wondered aloud.

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

“Now, we wait,” Demil replied matter-of-factly, carefully shaping his face into a mask of impassivity despite his own mounting anxiety. “Cadet, your gear is operational, correct?”

“Yes, sir,” Zayin said quickly, beginning to pace back and forth across the room.

“You think they finally want to make contact?”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

The Communications NE voice came through the comms, “Lieutenant Zunara and Lieutenant Lis, Commander Halcyone has confirmed that you can prepare for transport are cleared to beam over to the Corvallen and retrieve the cargo. I am sending the coordinates to you now.”
