Things had gone quiet for the medical staff of the Challanger as of late. With that a certain denobulan CMO had found that his yearly sleep had come upon him. He had made the necessary arrangements and inforned both his staff, cadets, and the captain that he should be away for a week or two. With that he appointed an ensign that had been working as a Doctor in training as the acting CMO until his sleep cycle passed. Then he went to his quarters to sleep.

The CMO settled in and quickly found himself in a deep sleep. And time passed. A bit more time than anticipated as Phylax slept peacefully.

A week passed, then two… the CMO slept on as part of his yearly slumber cycle though it was lasting longer than normal.

In his sleep he would dream often about his first wife, as it has been a number of moons and light cycles since he had seen her. She was a firey red head, a beauty by denobulan standards though it was not for her looks that he fell in love with her; but it was her brain. She was a Xenobiologist of some renown. The two had met at a Biology convention, that he had attended on a whim one year just before he departed Denobula and it was almost a head over heels love at first conversation. He had been practicing herbal medicine for a decade or two by then and had began to seek broader ways of medicine and how the unique biological structures of different species would respond to medicines. Initially what wound up to be the first date between Deltor and his first wife Velisa was a joint research project on their fields of expertise, herbal medicine and the effects it had on alien biology. Parts of that project flashed in his dreams and the enjoyment he had throuought.

The first concoction he had made was a mixture of herbs that the enzymes would do well for aiding the speed of recovery with superficial abrasions on Denobulans. He found that it worked well with human biology too, but not so much with replicated benzite tissue. During the course of the study they used synthetic tissue samples so he thought it would do well in a practical application and the studies of the chemical seemed to be effective without detremental effect on a chemisty standpoint but without practical trials it was more of a theory than anything. The memories faded from his dreams as he went back towards a pitch black area a void that he sometimes slipped into between the memory dreams.
