Demil stepped off the shuttle onto the deck of the Challenger, taking in the new ship. His uniform, hair, and posture were all as impeccable as the day he had first left the Academy. He smiled slightly to himself - he had never expected to wind up back here so soon. He could still reasonably be mistaken for a cadet himself, but here he was, briskly on his way up to the bridge to meet his new captain. As the turbolift doors opened and he walked out, he greeted the officers nearby politely but kindly, significantly more personable than he had been as a green ensign.
“Good morning, sir,” he addressed Captain Foley as he walked down to stand in front of his superior, “I’m Lt. Demil Lis. I was just reassigned to be your new Chief Science Officer, and just arrived on board. I’m pleased to meet you.”
Demil smiled, slightly shy and nervous now that he was standing in front of the CO, and absentmindedly brushed a lock of hair that had started creeping down his forehead back with his hand.

Pilar looked at the Captain then the new CSO. She stepped in front of the new officer then “Welcome aboard. I have your transfer orders from the Ark Angel. The XO there has told me you are a fine officer. Why don’t you follow me and we can start your briefing.” she said as she motioned for him to follow her.

Halcyone, XO

Aaron glanced over at Pilar and nodded his thanks. He was focused on their current operation and didn’t have time for the distraction. He would meet up with the new Lieutenant after this was complete.

“Thank you, Ma’am,” Demil said, following behind Pilar and folding his hands in front of him. “Are there any duties you’d like me to start on?”

“Yes but first we should get through our briefing. Tell me about your time on the Ark Angel,” she said as she led him to a conference room.
