“Why, yes, but I also wanted to see if you would be ready for the field and to see what are your motivations.” Aaron took a pause to let the cadet thinks about what he said and continued
“A lot of people are coming to Starfleet without realizing why they want to enlist. And although it is more the job of the counselor, it’s still interesting to ask.” Aaron leaned a bit forward and looked George in the eyes. “So… Why did you want in Starfleet ?”

George took a second to think, and then said “My father being in Starfleet was always an inspiration, but I also always loved starships and astronomy. Joining Starfleet was the easiest way to get both, and so I joined as a science officer.”
George took a large sip of his water, and sighed. “If only my dad were alive to see me now. He’d be so proud. He always encouraged me to do what I wanted to do. And this is what I wanted.”

Aaron gave him a smile : “I can relate to that.” He finished his cup before opening his terminal, which was only in sleep mode. On it was already displayed data about Haroon’s course at the Academy. Nothing out of the ordinary, an exemplary officer, thought Aaron.

“By the way, do you have any goal in specific at Starfleet? Like a rank to achieve or a specific ship to serve on?”
