Pilar listened as he recounted his time with his father. After he was done she said, “All I hear you speak are words of admiration, gratitude, and of course love. If its not too much to ask, how did he die and where were you when he passed away?”

“There was an accident. He had transferred to the engineering department (somehow) the year before, and was chief engineer of a ship, I actually don’t remember which. He was showing some new Ensigns how to repair the elevator, when it malfunctioned. He had been standing under it, and it nearly crushed him. One of the ensigns got it to go back up, and another one called for doctors. He was taken to sickbay, but it was too late. I was on the same ship, although I was in quarters when the accident happened. My mom and I got there just in time to hear his last words. I was right beside him holding his hand when he breathed his last.” Haroon finally sat down, sadness beginning to emerge on his face. He was starting to cry.
