Working in space is a dangerous job. The void, the interstellar anomalies, the mysterious species that could kill you in an instant… We take a huge risk in space traveling. But as they said, the risk is our job. We are explorers, adventurers, on top of the knowledge humanity has. And as the brain is trained, the body needs training too

That’s why Aaron was in the Holodeck 2, in a fully reconstituted gym, running on the treadmill. His vaccine development has been taking him a bit of time, and the consequences arrived quickly, in the form of cardio loss and muscle loss. Sweating at hell, grinning due to the effort, he kept swearing silently. The doctor that neglected his body,he thought with irony. What would they think of me at the Academy, uh? The program accelerated the speed, making him almost full sprinting on a 6° gradient. Damnit! No more sport skipping ever!
For over 30 seconds, he continued the sprint, before the treadmill produced a bip, indicating the end of the program. Letting out a big sight, Aaron gets down from the machine and took a bottle and a towel that were near to him. Taking a sip of water, he wiped his hair a bit a sat on a bench, breathing slowly.

While he made his break, the lieutenant looked around the gym. Today was a bit particular since the gym was filled with people. One might think of holograms generated to make an ambiance for him, but in reality, those were real flesh and blood crewmen. For the next 5 hours, the Holodeck has been converted into a gym opened to all the crew so that the whole ship could train together if they wanted. Plus, with the arrival of the new cadet prom, it was the perfect occasion to make the event.
Aaron saw familiar faces around him, as Ensigns were coming in and out of the room, lifting weight, running on a treadmill, or even making yoga in a side of the room. It was quite pleasant to see the crew working out in the same room. This could be a regular event, he thought with a smile. I’m sure Vanessa would appreciate the idea, but I’ll have to tell the Captain about it.
