Tender nodded and worked his way forward with Kalos, pushing debris out of his way as he worked. Dark and without gravity this part of the ship was dangerous and ghost town like. Most everyone seemed to have escaped this deck, or at least there weren’t floating body parts around. While the engineer spoke with science he made his way towards the tube entrance and opened the manual release. “Whenever you’re ready cadet.”

“Wait!” Kalos yelled stopping Tender from opening the tube access. “The section beyond is still pressurized there is a massive pressure differential and because there is no airlock it will violently decompress if you open it. We have to vent it slowly.” pressing a contact next to the tube access there was a soft ping and then a rushing of air.
“That should do it” Kalos said gesturing to Tender to open the hatch.
“After you”

Tender pulled back when Kalos yelled to stop and then nodded a little waiting for the engineer to vent the pressure. When it was successfully stabilized he pulled on the manual release causing it to open with a pop and soft brush of air as the remaining bits flooded into the vaccume that was the room they were currently standing in. He motioned with his flashlight, “After you… Up twenty meters then left then up then we are there.”

crawling into the tube, Kalos called out to tender: “close the hatch behind you so we can equalize the pressure and take these bulky suits off.”
equalizing the pressure between their point of entry and subspace control, Kalos undid the latch on his helmet. Stunned, Kalos quickly redid the latch on his helmet. “Leave it on for now, life support must be offline because the air is very cold. The heat from the computer should be enough to keep us warm in the control room but we wont have more than a half hour of air, so its best we don’t waste it.”
Pushing off of the deck Kalos floated up to the top of the tube shaft and continued on to the control room.
