With the Captain off the ship for a few days, that left Aaron in charge. Hopefully she wouldn’t be mad that he had done this one graduation while she was out, but orders were orders. And hopefully she wouldn’t mind that he was borrowing her Ready Room either…

Javal approached the door to the Captain’s Ready Room, taking a brief moment to adjust his uniform before hitting the door chime.

“Cadet Javal, reporting as ordered,” he said, in that typically stoic Vulcan fashion.

Lofton entered a few steps behind the cadet, her nod to the commander setting her bun into a small wobble. She took up a position standing off to the side, closer to Foley than to Javal. It was hard to hide her grin at times like this.

CNS Lofton

“Thank you both for coming,” Aaron said while nodding to Lofton as she stepped to the side. “Cadet Javal, front and center please.”

Picking up a PADD from the desk, Aaron turned back towards the Cadet.

“With the Captain off the ship, this duty falls to me.” Clearing his throat, Aaron looked down at the PADD and read from it. “Cadet Javal, with the successful completion of your tour here on the Challenger, you have fulfilled the requirements as a graduate of Starfleet Academy. Upon the recommendation of myself and the Captain, in consolation with the Academy, you are hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and assigned to the USS Chimera, as her Chief Medical Officer.”

Turning back around, Aaron sat the PADD down and picked up a small wooden box. He turned back and extended it towards Javal.

“Congratulations Lieutenant.”
