Luckily for Dr. Javal, it had appeared that the turbolift system was still mostly operational, save for the lighting system, which was, for the duration of his ride, flickering rather obnoxiously around him. As the turbolift doors swung open, the doctor stoically forged on to Sickbay despite his photo bleached vision and a newly exacerbated headache to boot.

As the doors to the med bay opened, Javal immediately made for the nearest medical crewman he could find.

“Doctor Javal, reporting for emergency medical response. What is the current situation in Sickbay?”

Javal took a second to tap his commbadge and motioned to the NE to wait just a moment.

=/\= “Cadet Javal here. We will respond as soon as the medical emergency is under control.” =/\=

“You may proceed with your report, NE,” the doctor said promptly, hands folded behind his back.

NE Storme motioned to the chaos around as bodies, in various states brokeness. “Madness, doctor.” Storme walked with Javal to the first biobed, “This poor fellow got plasma burns, Patient in bay two has perforated body parts, and three has a concussion. There are medics on scene on all three decks. Casualty reports coming in already confirm 5 dead or missing.”

Javal nodded, displaying what seemed to be an island of relative calmness in his expression in the midst of the torrent of activity that NE Storme had introduced him too.

“Thank you for the report, NE. Given that I was not contacted by the CMO or any of the other senior Sickbay personnel, I must assume that they are currently in the process of rendering aid to the injured crew on Decks 7 through 9 as well…” he said, glancing around the room.

Turning his attention to the NE, he continued: “…which means that, for the present, we are in charge of caring for the patients that were brought here. Let us begin triage immediately.”

The doctor looked into the eyes of the panicked NE and systematically listed out what he required.

“Get me scans on the extent of the patient’s plasma burns on Biobed 1 - I need to know the degree of the burns, how much of their body surface has suffered trauma and whether they have any active infections.”

After giving his instructions to NE Storme, Javal quickly moved over to the side of the crewman in bay 2 who was in the most urgent need of medical assistance.

Glancing quickly at the biobed’s readout, Javal’s eyes scoured for the most critical info he needed at that moment - the patient’s name, so he could coordinate with them, and their vitals, which in the case of perforated limbs, he wanted to know their blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration rate to rule out if he had to intervene in case of a life-threatening hemorrhage.

OOC: Feel free to paint me a picture of what’s going on with this perforated patient. Is he losing a ton of blood, or are any of his organs ruptured and/or being crushed by internal bleeding?
