A big screech resonates in the ship’s corridor, like metal ripping, and the ground shakes for a few moments, making people fall on the ground. Right after the shakes, an alarm sounded, indicating a danger of some sort.

Aaron stepped out of a science lab and looked for the cause of this phenomenon. He didn’t notice anything particular, except some people on the ground and the alarm ringing. What in the devil…? thought the Lieutenant. He quickly comes nears the fallen down to see if anyone was injured, with the help of some of the scientists he works with. No one was really injured, but they were all worried, as was Aaron. Stepping toward the computer controls on the wall, he touched the screen and asks: “Computer, status !”
“Hull breach detected on Deck 8. Forcefield has been raised. Caution is advised”, answered the computer’s soft voice.
“I will” replied the man with sarcasm. His thoughts were brought to the engineering section and to Dael. I hope he’s okay.

Aaron frowned at Rodier’s transmission, trying to get with a solution. Walking back at the laboratory, he noticed some officers running toward the dilithium containers. As his team looked at him with an interrogative look, he raised his hands and says: “We have an issue about a charged asteroids’ field, everyone. We have to find a way to cross the field without losing the hull, and I want every scientist on it. Top priority !”

After he brings everything he had about asteroids, he realised the main problem was the electrical nature of the asteroids that prevent the deflector from pushing them apart. The interference caused by the electrical charge might have created some sort of magnetic shield around the rocks.

“I think we have something”, said the Lieutenant with a grin. “I’ll go to the bridge. NE Stevens, you’re with me.” He dispatched the rest of the team about the deflector’s parameters they had to change in order to repel the asteroids, and the two officers walks out of the room.
