OOC: I’m going to specifically leave the “scene” a little open-ended here so that you can all have some fun working in your character’s favorite “winter” activities. Please feel free to join in!

Katelyn ran her fingers through her long, dark curls and gave them a gentle tug at the ends as she pondered the scene in front of her. The holodeck had been transformed into what might have been called a “winter wonderland” by the humans native to Earth with a gentle snowfall coming from above. Where she stood, at the base of a large mountain, she could see lights twinkling in the distance in an inviting building, gondolas making their way from the base of the mountain to the top, and a large bonfire crackling nearby. Making her way to the bonfire, she selected a small stick from a container and stabbed a fluffy white marshmallow on the end, reaching to dangle it in front of the nearest flame until it caught fire itself. A sharp blow of air later and she bit into the gooey confection, her eyes drifting toward where the holodeck doors would hopefully soon open with other crew members to join the fun.

Katie checked the registry and noted that there was an open Terran winter simulation running in Holodeck B. She only hesitated a moment before deciding to join that simulation. The scene was almost entirely white… (what was the word for the frozen water falling from the sky? Hail? Sleet? Snow? That was it. Snow.) with the grey sky and the splashes of green from the pine trees. And a single figure sitting near a large fire dressed in cold weather gear. Katie’s own outfit was much lighter as this barely qualified as cold compared to her home on Mars.

“I don’t think we’ve met,” Katie said to the individual by the fire. “Mind if I join you?”
