Back onboard the Enterprise, the shields and weapons of the Enterprise have been powered down. Javal tapped his commbadge to get in touch with the transporter chief.

=^= “Chief, scan the lead Romulan ship, the Chaltok for any transportable signatures. We’re going to fire another disruption pulse to bring down their shields again and I need you to beam up the Captain if his transporter pad is primed.” =^=

While waiting for a response from the transporter chief, Javal turned to look over at the comm officer.

“Is the fleet in system yet?” he asked.

“They will be here in five minutes, sir,” the comm officer replied.

Five minutes. Are they going to arrive too late? Javal thought to himself.

At that moment, the transporter chief replied.

=^= “Transporter Room to the bridge. Commander, I may have a valid signature coming from their transporter room. The Romulans will be able to detect a transporter signal from their bridge. If we went through with this, they’ll surely fire upon us with our shields down.” =^=

Javal paused for moment. =^= “That is a risk that we will have to take. We must await our reinforcements, and I am confident our hull will be able to withstand the attack.” =^=

Javal then hit the ship’s intercom.

=^= “This is Acting Captain Javal. We are preparing to beam Captain Kleine back aboard the Enterprise. However, by doing so our actions will be detected by the Romulan vessels and they will open fire upon us. I want damage control teams at the ready, and for the rest of the crew to brace for immediate impact. Javal out.” =^=

Javal then gave the order to the tactical station to disrupt the Chaltok’s shields.

=^= “Now Chief,” =^= Javal said, ordering the transport of Kleine back to the ship.

Jordy beams aboard the enterprise and the romulan ships are starting to fire again.

The transporter chief taps on his commbadge. =^= Transporter room to bridge the captain is onboard the enterprise you can raise the shields again.=^=

In the short time the romulans fired at the enterprise they got to do a lot off damage 25% off the hull integrity.

As the Romulan fire rocked the ship, Javal was tossed from his seat onto the floor. Luckily, he was unharmed, but the ship certainly wasn’t.

“Damage report!” Javal called out, getting to his feet.

“Hull integrity’s at 75%, sir! We have casualties and fires on decks 7-12.”

=^= “Javal to damage control and sickbay. Get to decks 7-12 on the double,” =^= Javal said over the intercom.

“Tactical, get our shields back online immediately. Helm, begin evasive maneuvers, defensive pattern beta four,” he commanded. He then tapped his combadge to respond to the transporter chief.

=^= “Good work, Chief. Have the Captain return to the bridge immediately.” =^=

As all of the chaos was going on, a thought entered Javal’s mind. Was it the right decision for him to have risked the lives of his crew simply for the sake of one man, even if he was the captain? For now, he’d need to place that thought out of his mind and focus on the simulation. He would certainly have to ponder this later on, perhaps in the mess hall with Jordy.

‘Chief do you have a commbadge left?’ Jordy asked.

‘Yes sir.’ The chief replied giving Jordy a commbadge.

Jordy is going to the bridge.

10 people died and 20 are heavily injured.

The federation fleet arived.
