“Where did it go?”

“Sorry, it’s a rule, can’t reveal my secrets.” Samuel Greene grinned. His sleight of hand had never worked before to impress anyone. Of course, even a cheesy magic trick was more interesting than silently waiting out a turbolift ride. “Not for free anyway.”

“What’s the going rate?” Crewman White asked with a playfully arched eyebrow.

“Let me make you dinner and I’ll spill everything.”, Samuel poured every ounce of charm he could into his smile.

The turbolift stopped and White got out, just as the doors were closing, she said, “I’ll think about it.” Greene’s smile was plastered to his face for the reminder of the journey. By the time he arrived at Lieutenant Barr’s office he had managed to regain his composure. He pressed the alert button to signal his arrival.

“Come in,” Alison called from where she sat behind her desk. Coffee cup in one hand, PADD in the other, and feet up on the desk, she was taking a moment to catch up on the latest journals that had just come in via sub space.

“What can I help you with Cadet?” She asked looking up from her reading.
