Miya considered his question briefly, then came to a quick decision. “I’ll have a raktajino, please! I have the feeling we’ll need to be alert and ready for anything, this shift.” The lack of solid information about the colonists’ medical situation still concerned the Bajoran - and, she was sure, her colleagues - but she thought they were prepared for almost any eventuality.

Well, hopefully they were.

“Anyone else want some refreshments?” she asked nearby Sickbay staff. “Aaron’s doing a replicator run. I’ll come and help you if there are any more orders, Aaron!” she added with a grin. She’d often thought it would be handy to have extra limbs, like the Edosians. Especially when it came to doing surgery … or bringing multiple cups from the replicator.

To answer the question about crew rostering, the Discovery-class ships are fairly small (think Voyager sized, but with a full crew given the lack of Delta Quadrant worm holing). There would definitely be more crew in Sickbay than just the three of you (two cadets and the CMO). In STF, we sometimes use these nameless crew members to advance a sim or to just have some fun; we usually call them Nameless Ensigns (“NEs”), although you’ll see some Nameless Cadets (“NCs”) running about… oh, and they usually have names, but not normal ones. :P

Aaron came back with his coffee, Miya’s, and one of the cadet’s drinks. He gives them their orders and begins to sip his coffee. The smell of the drink and the heat coursing through his hands makes him feel better.
“And that is how you begin a good day !”, he said, talking to Miya. “And…”

The cadet was suddenly interrupted by his combadge :

=/\= Davis to Sickbay, Stadi, and Rodier. We are receiving a garbled transmission that there are only 50 colonists remaining. We are attempting a transporter lock now and, if possible, we will beam them directly to Cargo Bay 1. We can’t differentiate the life signs, so secure the Cargo Bay, full lockdown, level 10 forcefields. No one in or out until the transport is successful and we can conduct thorough scans of the colonists. =/\=

“Okay, maybe not that good.”, continue Aaron. Looking at Miya, he was a bit worried. A little spark of fear appeared in his eyes. He was fully awakened, and not thanks to the coffee. “… I hope it’s going to be fine. Maybe we should head to Cargo Bay 1, what do you think ?”
