The cadet took the advice to heart and would try to keep it in mind for the future. “Noted, Sir.” The cadet would have to find time for thinking about the future between his duties aboard the Challenger, his personal research, and his sleep. If achieving greatness was easy than everyone would do it He thought. As the Beta-zoid remarked that there were no more questions to ask and opened the floor to questions from Connor, he asked the only question that occupied his mind. “When do I start?” The human male smiled at his CO counterpart. He was ready for this next step in his journey and eager to begin. And under a Chief Engineer like Lt. Stadi, he felt like he could finally stretch his legs and show the depth of his knowledge.

OOC: Since you’ve got a good handle for how we post here, feel free to start your threads for you Sickbay and Counselor check-ins. Just start them like you did this one and you’ll be fine. This thread was for me to help see how your posting style was and help you adjust to ours and some of the formatting, and to get you to think about your character as an engineer and officer. The other two will do something similar, though obviously sickbay will deal with your character’s medical history and the Counselor is great to make you think about who your character is as a person. Hope to read those soon. Also, we have new sim starting out, and I’ve called you up to help in Engineering, so check this thread: Main Sim- Engineering, out when you get a chance, you can do both those check ins and start posting in the sim now.

Dael gave a smile as he leaned back in the chair. “I had a feeling that’s what you would ask, and not just because of this.” he said, pointing towards his temple. The Betazoid looked over his PADD again. “Once you get settled in, do your other check ins with sickbay and our esteemed Counselor, you’ll be on the next duty shift I send out.” He made a note on the device to remind him to add the new cadet to his scheduling and looked back towards Washburne.

“Anything else I can help you with, Cadet?”

OC: Awesome, thanks for the help, look forward to posting with you! I posted in the main sim. I noticed the format seemed slightly different, so I tried my best to make sure that I did it correctly, but feel free to tell me if it’s not right.

“No Sir. Thank you for the opportunity. I look forward to working aboard the Challenger.” Connor smiled and prepared to finish his onboarding responsibilities once he was dismissed.

OOC: No problem, took a quick look at your post over there before checking here. It looked good, let me know if you have any issues or problems getting the swing of things. Oh and don’t forget to add your department after your name when you sign your posts. Not a big deal here since we’re both the same department, but in bigger posts such as say an away team mission it helps everyone remember who’s the best to call on for something without having to double check the roster each time :)

“Good to hear it Cadet Washburne, like I said, keep your eyes out for my updated shift roster. Once you’ve completed your other responsibilities making yourself at home here, I like to put my crew to work keeping the Challenger up to par, assignment or no assignment.” Dael replied putting his PADD down on the work desk and stood up. He extended his hand, a human gesture he had noticed most humanoids found encouraging. “Treat her right, and she’ll always bring you home. Glad to have you aboard.”

Once the handshake was over, Dael took his seat again and looked back up at his new engineer. “Dismissed, Cadet.”
