Whitfield moved towards the Counselor’s Office quietly, her hands by her sides as she stuck near the walls, out of the way. She wasn’t quite sure what to feel about her last check-in but it definitely wasn’t going to be something that she’d let distract her. At the moment, all she wanted to do was to get to work. And maybe take a quick break from all the running around she’d been doing today.

She felt that maybe she should’ve been worried or even afraid to visit the Counselor, but at this point, she was close enough to working to not worry about it. Besides, the last two check-ins hadn’t gone so bad, which definitely contributed to some of what little confidence Whitfield had left in reserves. She approached the office and buzzed the door, simply waiting by the door and waiting for approval before entering.

“Come in!” sounded through the door panel, and the door slid apart. Vanessa was walking around the small desk on the right side of the room and approached Olive, hand extended. She was human, with pale skin and dark hair piled into a bun at the back of her head, and currently wore a large smile.

“You must be Olive,” she said as they shook hands. “I’m Lieutenant Commander Lofton, the ship’s counselor. But please, in here, call me Vanessa.” She gestured Olive toward the sitting area, filled with a large L-shaped sofa, upholstered in blue and set against a darker blue wall. Hung above the sofa was a painting, giving the room a splash of color - a human couple dancing on a wet beach, he in a tuxedo and she barefoot in a red evening gown, as a butler and maid stood nearby clutching umbrellas against an invisible wind. A matching red vase, filled with white daisies, sat on a side table at one end of the couch.

“Would you like something to drink?” she offered.

OOC: Hi Charles! In the counselor thread we’ll try to find out more about your character, help deal with motivations and desires, and maybe some things to add to the great bio you’ve got started. I can’t wait to write with!
