T’Saie nodded along, appeased with the Cadets attitude and demeanour around their presence on Challenger. “This is the best place to gain that experience.” she responded, confident that she would fit in nicely.

She stood up from her seat, “Well, Cadet Miya. This concludes our meeting.” she spoke, handing a slight nod as opposed to a handshake, T’Saie really didn’t appreciate touching, particularly as a touch-telepath.

Miya rose too, pleased that the first meeting with her department head seemed to have passed off smoothly - though, she thought, the lieutenant’s demeanour gave few clues either way. Hopefully it had, anyway.

She nodded respectfully in return. “Thank you, sir. Should I report to one of the team for my medical now? And where do I go to be allocated my quarters?” She bent to retrieve her bag from the floor, slinging it over her shoulder as she waited for the lieutenant’s reply.

T’Saie picked up a PaDD and studied it for a moment, “You’ll next need to see the ships counsellor, Commander Vanessa Lofton.” she paused, tapping the PaDD, “Your accommodation is on Deck 5, Door 6B” she responded, “Your shifts will be sent to your computer.”

“Deck 5, Door 6B,” Miya repeated, adding the information quickly to her own PaDD. Normally she had an excellent memory, but she didn’t want to rely on it at a time like this - it’d be embarrassing if she couldn’t find her own quarters once she’d finished all the formalities of coming aboard! “Thank you, sir. I’ll report to the counsellor next.”

She hesitated briefly, then added, “Will have my medical now, or will that happen during my first duty shift?” The lieutenant couldn’t have heard her earlier question and Miya didn’t want to assume she could just leave without checking first.
