The form of the Chief of Security soon materialized in the middle of Sickbay. Perhaps without his noticing, there was a small furball perched on top of his head as he rematerialized.

• GM-ish

Suddenly, the trill of rematerialisation emanated from the middle of Sickbay. T’Saie stood there quietly, expecting an injured Ensign and instead appeared the Chief of Security..? “Is everything alright, Lieutenant?” she asked, puzzled yet curious as to why he was beamed into sickbay with a ball of fur on his head..

● T’Saie - Lt. Jr. Grade, Chief Medical Officer, Nurse Practitioner. ●

“This.. isn’t the Bridge?” Anders realised slowly, swinging his legs around to sit on the edge of the biobed, “You should’ve received Mr. WantstoGolf.... they’re down on Holodeck One with two of my team, but they’re locked in.” Anders tapped his combadge, “=/\= This is Lieutenant Anders, can anyone hear me? =/\=” Anders felt a small nibbling sensation on the crown of his head as the Tribble began gnawing at loose strands of his hair.

Ready to deal with an injured ensign, Miya could only blink as an apparently fit and healthy lieutenant sat up on the biobed, seemingly thinking he should have appeared on the Bridge. Her attention was drawn to the small ball of fur on top of his head which had somehow stayed in place despite the lieutenant shifting from a lying to a sitting position. Was it .... moving?

“Ummm … is this - uh, meant to be here?” She pointed at the fluffball, leaning in from the lieutenant’s side to peer more closely at it, then took a step back. “It’s definitely moving!”

Kyle looked up, briefly confused, “What?” Then looking up, he couldn’t help but chuckle, “Oh, him, there are loads of them in Holodeck One, have you ever encountered a Tribble before Cadet?”

“A … ‘tribble’? No, sir!” Miya took a closer look again at the fluffy ball on top of the lieutenant’s head. Despite her extensive studies since joining Starfleet Academy, she couldn’t recall hearing about ‘tribbles’. “So is it … a pet? Is that why there are tribbles in holodeck one? Does this one have a holo-emitter so it can leave the holodeck?”

Why would someone create a holo-pet when the holodecks are easily accessible? she thought, but didn’t voice her query aloud.
