Kyle whirled, “Son of a- Computer, end programme.”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

The computer beeped back at Anders in what could be considered a brush of annoyance.

=/\= There is no holodeck program active. =/\=

His attention was on his tricorder, which was in the process of identifying where all nine lifeforms were. With any luck they would all be on the holo–Ben stepped on something… something soft that flinched and screeched in surprise the moment the trill put his weight on top of it. Without even thinking Ben pulled his foot up, immediately losing his balance and sending his toppling into the holodeck, crashing into Henry, “Whoa! Sorry, Rody!”

Though he heard the holodeck doors close behind him he didn’t think they were trapped–at least not yet. His attention instead was drawn to WantsToGolf, the young woman that had summoned them all here. Ironically, none of them were medics or scientists or even engineers, all of whom would have probably been more helpful dealing with a wounded officer, tribbles and holodeck troubles. Nevertheless, they were Starfleet Officers, and they would make do no matter what the situation. Speaking of which… he turned to Anders.

“Lieutenant, initial scans indicate nine tribble-like lifesigns on deck five,” he informed the Chief of Security, who was attempting to end the program. Ben’s fingers tapped at the luminescent buttons of the tricorder, “I’m trying to get a fix on their exact locations…”

The tricorder happily indicated that all five were in the holodeck. As it provided that information to d’Qorvos, he felt a slight weight upon the top of his head.

Unable to maintain his balance, Ben’s weight pushed Henry to the floor. With a grunt, he lifted himself back to his feet, glancing at his fellow Cadet. “Ben? Oh, right, forgot it was an all-call.” Rodier was about to ask his friend if he was okay, seeing as he could feel an ache in his own ankle where Cadet d’Qorvos had landed an unfortunately-placed knee. But with many things happening around him, he chose to prioritize, and instead walked over to WantsToGolf.

Pushing the troublesome tribble out of the way, Henry said “Miss WantsToGolf, are you all right? Where does it hurt?” He wasn’t exactly sure what to do once the woman told him where it hurt, seeing as all he had on him was in his standard security pack, which wasn’t exactly designed around medical procedures. But he knew it was his duty, if only to stop WantsToGolf’s incessant moaning.

The cadet whimpered pathetically at Rodier, big green eyes filled with watery tears as though an anime character had come to life. “It hurts!” she sniffled.

”=/\= Anders to Sickbay, we’ve got wounded on Holodeck One, stand by for emergency transport. =/\=”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Henry took a step back. “You’re gonna be okay, Cadet. Just stay calm.” I swear I’ve seen someone that looks just like her somewhere he thought. Maybe in one of those old shows they taught about in History of Media… The word Buttercup came to mind, but he couldn’t for the life of him say why.

“Wait, this is strange,” Benem furrowed his brow as he looked at his tricorder. “Before there ere nine, now there are only five,” he explained the data out loud, for the benefit of his companions. “From what I understand about tribbles they multiply, not reduce in population. Unless the other four are elsewhere on Deck Five…”

He didn’t get a chance to finished–just then something dropped onto his head. Immediately he tried to shake it off, “Ugh! What is it? Is it a spider!?”

Suddenly, an idea flashed across Kyle’s mind, “Henry, I’ve got an idea to get rid of the tribbles, remember the training programme? More specifically, the transport com badges?”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Outgoing Chief of Security-

Cadet Rodier snapped out of his musings, and turning to the Lieutenant said “I think I see where you’re going with this, sir.” He edged over to the nearby tribble, waiting for Anders to establish the correct com badge mode.

“Computer, initiate phase two of Security Endurance Programme Charlie 65.” The hologrid shifted around the three officers, to be replaced by a holographic mock-up of the Challenger’s armory. Kyle grabbed two cases of the specially modified com badges from a rack and tossed them to the cadets, “Use these,” he was having to shout over the chorus of Tribble purring. “Cadet d’Qorvos, follow Cadet Rodier’s lead.” The security chief began tagging Tribbles to be transported into escape pods, “=/\= Anders to Bridge, we have a problem down here, but I have a plan, stand by. =/\=”
