After being dismissed by Lieutenant Anders, Benem decided to take the long way to Sickbay, instead exploring the corridors of decks seven, six and five before finally reaching the sickbay on deck four. He was impressed by the sheer size of the place, and very eager to have a little bit more time to really get more than a cursory look at life aboard the USS Challenger. By the time he reached sickbay he was regretting not having asked the Security Chief where his quarters would be located–he would’ve opted for dropping his bag off instead of lugging it around three decks.

The doors slid open and the trill entered. Not quite sure where to begin, he approached the first person he saw, “Hey. I’m Cadet d’Qorvos. I’m here for my… boarding physicals?” He smiled. “I think that’s what it’s called. If you guys are busy in here I can come back later.”

Carmen had just started her shift, and was in a very good mood. She hummed a forgettable pop song under her breath, heading up to the front of sickbay, when the doors opened and an excited but nervous Trill came through. Normal emotions for a brand-new cadet, she was very used to her Betazoid side picking up such feelings.
“Hello!” said Carmen, after the Trill introduced himself. “I can get your physical started right away.”
She led the Cadet to a bio-bed, talking all the way there. “I’m Cadet Parker-Cawlyns, but you can call me Carmen. If you’d sit down here, please, that would be great.”
She pulled out her pad, typed something into it faster than one would think physically possible, and then pulled out her tricorder.
“This will only take a moment, I just need to get a quick scan.” she said, pressing a couple buttons before starting.

OOC: Hey, Benem isn’t joined, correct? His bio didn’t say he was, but I’d like to make sure.

“Thanks, Carmen,” he smiled, pleased that she preferred to bypass the formalities. It was a bit of a comfort to see a Cadet performing this duty, as it showed him they kind of responsibilities he might be getting in the next few days. Sitting down on the bio-bed as she’d asked him to do, the trill stretched his hand out towards her, some of his confidence returning now that he found himself on somewhat equal footing with someone.

“I’m Benem,” he said to her , only briefly taking a look at the equipment she was using. “You can call me Ben, though. Nice to meet you. How long have you been on the Challenger?” With a quick glance over to the bio-bed he was sitting on, he added, “Do I just sit here? Or would you like me to lay down for you?”

OOC: He’s unjoined. I should probably make that clearer on my bio. Thanks for asking!

“Ben.” Carmen echoed, cementing his name in her mind. “I’ve been here for just over a month. You’ll settle in quickly.”
“No, just sit please.” she said, starting her scan. After a moment, it was finished. “You look all good to go,” she said with a smile.
She sat down the tricorder, and moved to perch on a stool beside the bio-bed. She took a couple more notes on her PADD, and then looked up at her patient.
“Alright, I just have a few questions and then we’re all good to go. First, do you have any past medical conditions I should be aware of?”
