ooc: Wow, you’re really making me think about my character! I hadn’t even thought to consider most of your questions! I actually took the 16 personalities quiz for Carmen so I could get a better idea of what she would be like! (she’s a ESFJ-A)
ic: Carmen shifted herself into a more comfortable position on the couch while she gathered her thoughts. “I’m good in a team, but I’m not much of a leader. I can do my job in a team as long as everybody else does theirs.”

OOC: That’s part of my job here hahaha. I hadn’t considered taking a personality test for a character - that’s a great idea!

Vanessa laughed brightly. “Sounds like you’ve had some poor experiences with group projects at the Academy.” She shook her head. “Seemed there was always at least one person not pulling their weight in my groups.”

She reached over to her cup and took another sip before setting it back down. “What do you like to do in your off time? Do you have any hobbies?”

Carmen nodded. “If everybody does their job, things get done. If somebody doesn’t do their job, nothing gets done.”
She smiled brightly when asked about what she liked to do. “I like going to parties, and making friends. I just like being around people. Playing board games, having fancy dinners, watching movies–any excuse to have people over or to just hang out.” She really was a social butterfly, being invited to endless parties back at the academy. She always tried to make people feel welcome and included, and to help them have fun! She couldn’t quite understand introverts. Why would you watch a movie by yourself when you could watch it with all your friends?!
“Of course, I can’t hang out with people all the time. When I’m by myself, I tend to catch up on the news, and any celebrity scandals going around.” Her cousin was a moderately famous pop star, and she liked to see whatever he was up to.

Vanessa grinned at the young woman’s infectious personality. “As long as you’re getting your work done, I’m sure you’ll be able to host as many parties as you’d like,” she said with a grin. “It may not be up your alley, but the captain loves playing chess.” She paused, lips pursed, considering the differences in the personalities. “She’s… a very focused woman, so I wouldn’t expect her at one of your parties, though,” she added.

“So tell me some more about yourself. Where’d you grow up, your family, that sort of thing.” Vanessa lifted her cocoa again and sipped as she listened.

OOC: Don’t forget to sign your post - it’s easy to forget (I did it several times when I first came back), but once we get more than four posts in a thread the system stops indenting and they’re all the same color, so the signatures really help distinguish one post from the next. That’s also why I tend to snip at the 3rd or 4th post - there’s one indent/color for each post that way. If you forget, you can use the Edit button on your post to go in and add it - as long as no one else has replied, then the option to edit won’t be available.

“Chess was never my strong point, there is a reason that I’m not in tactical.” Carmen said with a playful smile.

As for her past. “I’m afraid there isn’t much to tell. I’m an only child, born on Alpha 5, (ooc: the colony referenced in TOS: Charlie X, not to be confused with Ceti Alpha V, where Captain Kirk sent Khan and the SS Botany Bay) and I lived there until I was about eight. Then, after Mom and Dad split up, I spent time between Earth, Alpha 5, and Betazed. Mom was a food safety worker, working with regulations and the like. She met Dad when she was checking his clinic to make sure it followed all the rules.” She smiled to herself, she had practically grown up in that clinic. “They loved each other, but couldn’t live with each other. It took me years to realize it, but they were both much better off after the split.”
