USS Challenger
Side -sim: Engineering Training
Dael walked through the simulated version of Main Engineering, making sure everything was exactly the same as the real thing. Wouldn’t do any good if it wasn’t he thought as he observed the thrumming of the warp core, made up of clusters of photons but it felt real enough. He keyed a few more entries into his PADD to make sure the holodeck had kept his adjustments for this particular exercise. Using the handheld device, he experimented with his control of the virtual environment. One tap, and warp plasma began to spew from the side of the warp core. Nasty stuff, good thing the safeties are on he thought as he tapped another command, the flood stopped only to be replaced by an exploding console nearby. Another tap and the flaming console was replaced by the Challenger’s status board informing of a hull breach on deck 9. One more, and the alarm changed to a simple ODN coupling failure in a nearby Jefferies tube. Good, I’ll have to thank Anders for the holodeck idea, this will go much more smoothly than trying to create problems in the real Engineering. I don’t know if I could take purposefully tampering with that, and the Captain certainly wouldn’t appreciate it.
Satisfied with the simulation and his ability to change it as need be, Dael tapped his commbadge.
