The repair team reporting to Torres tapped a few buttons and looked back up, “A few cracked couplers and the injection manifold is off alignment. We could hit warp five but only for a short duration until the fixes are made.”

GM Wombat

“Alright thank you” Torres said

Torres turned toward Lt Sapeth “It looks like we are going to have to replace the cracked couplers and align the injection manifold If we wanna get out of here for good ”

Torres was glad to know that if anything happened they could get out of here but he knew that it wasn’t really over yet

Cadet Torres

Sapeth nodded. “Go ahead and start the repairs, but make sure you keep the warp core operational in case the Captain needs an emergency response.”

As the channel closed, the large Engineering bay doors slid aside to reveal Lieutenant Anders striding into the room, an air of determination around him. As he entered, he saw Torres milling around near the warp core, “Excuse the interruption Cadet,” he began, “But I’m looking for Lieutenant Sapeth?”

Torres looked up from a terminal to see Lt.Anders standing near the door

“Oh hello sir Lt.Sapeth is most likely in his office” He said while pointing to Sapeth’s office

Cadet Torres

Kyle nodded his thanks and headed over to the office. Sure enough, Sapeth was standing over one of the consoles, it looked as though he was trying to complete repairs.
“Lieutenant,” Anders began, “Captain Davis sent me to update you on the situation. We seem to have made contact with an unrecognisable ship. When I checked tactical, it looked as if it was revving its engines so to speak, in a similar way to an old 21st century combustion engine. Before I came here, the last thing I saw was the ship venting plasma tanks. If I didn’t know better, I’d say the ship was challenging us to a race.” Anders cocked an eyebrow, almost as if amused.

Sapeth raised an eyebrow. “While it is agreeable to see you Lieutenant, I shall make a note to have one of the cadets check the comm relays on the bridge.

“But repairs are proceeding. And I would recommend stalling if they are indeed challenging us to a race. The Challenger took damage to the warp core. We can reach warp 5, but only for a limited amount of time.”

Kyle couldn’t help but smirk at Sapeth’s comment about the comm relays, “I can send one of my people down here to assist you if that helps?”

Most of the repairs, being more or less trivial didn’t take long to assess. The whole of the ship would be back to 99% health in about 2 hours.

GM Wombat

Dael glanced at the incoming messages from the reapir team the Chief had assigned him. Not great but not terrible either, all things considered. He scanned the room in his mind to locate his superior officer while still looking at the repair display and inputting commands, but turned his head towards the direction he felt the Vulcan in to address him.

“Sir, I’m starting to get some preliminary reports in from the team I sent to check the forward deflector field and the localized field generators. Looks like minimal damage, but it’ll take about 2 hours to get us back to where we want to be.”

After informing Sapeth he noted the familiar pattern of thoughts entering into his mindscape and turned slightly to make eye contact with Lt Anders and gave him a nod in acknowledgement.

Cadet Stadi, Engineering

Torres walked into the LT.Sapeths office
“Sir we have located 99% of the damages and they are mostly trivial so we should be done with repairs in a couple of hours.”

Anders tapped his combadge, “=/\=Anders to McIntyre, report to Engineering.=/\=”

“I do believe we have it under control Lieutenant, but thank you for the offer. But as you just heard, we should have all the systems repaired in approximately 2 hours. Do you believe that the Captain can stall for that long?”

Kyle smirked in that cocky kind of way, “If I’ve learned anything from the Captain, she’ll bloody try.” After telling Cadet Mcintyre to disregard his previous order and report to him if he noticed anything strange, he nodded to the Chief Engineer and made his way back to the Bridge.

“Indeed. If you will excuse me Lieutenant, I believe I should help the Cadets so we can get the repairs completed quicker.”

Turning Sapeth headed for the warp core. “Cadet Torres. Please provide an update on your repairs.”

Torres looked down at his pad “Well it looks like the last repair was just finished”

OOC: Try not to skip a ahead too much without input from the GM. It can upset some GM’s, and that brings bad consequences.....

“That’s quite impressive Cadet. Didn’t you just recently say that we had several hours of repairs left to go?” Sapeth asked raising an eyebrow.
