Emmy’s bridge shift had gone by with little notable events and so she felt as though she needed something to work the intellectual aspects of her brain before she would be able to get any sound sleep that evening. She stopped by her quarters, quickly changing into a comfortable pair of dark gray leggings with a soft maroon tunic sweater and matching flats, and then collected a nearby chess set and pieces that was wholly un-notable and simply functional. A mere five minutes later, she was on her way to Nine Forward, finding a quiet corner to set up her chess board. She positioned the black pieces on her side and then leaned back a bit in her chair, scanning the room to see if anyone was interested in joining her.
