T’Mor turned her attention to the nearest computer station, and inquired as to the common uses of benzodiazepine. After scanning through the information, she read aloud what she considered to be her most important finding, “Doctors may prescribe a benzodiazepine for the following legitimate medical conditions: anxiety, insomnia, alcohol withdrawal, seizure control, muscle relaxation…”

She looked up toward the others, “Is there any evidence to suggest that Ensign Pey was suffering from chronic anxiety or insomnia?” Perhaps it was the fact that she had yet to have a good night’s sleep since coming aboard, but it seemed a possibility for the Ensign as well. It seemed logical to her that an Ensign might not be able to help feel anxious or restless from time to time, and most others lack the years of discipline required to control such tenancies.

McMorran gave T’Mor a hint of side-eye at her last comment.

Riley pursed his lips. “But two hypos? Why would she need two?” He paged through the information T’Mor had pulled up and shook his head. It still didn’t make sense.

“We could ask, though.” He looked to McMorran, still unsure of proper protocol for contacting other departments. “May I?”

Aili responded promply after she had finished letting out a deep and well earned sigh. “Ask medical? Please, feel free. You were quite right to ask before sharing sensitive information regarding members of the crew.” The CSO smiled with remembrance of her own time as a cadet on the Challenger and her anxiety over when and when not to speak up. She bowed her head before continuing. “You- you both- may and should contact other members of the crew, in this department or any other, when you deem it necessary.” A murder investigation was certainly not the ideal mission for the cadets. Then again, she pondered, plenty of lives had been on the line during her own training cruise.
