The CSO gave Riley a quick nod before her attention was quickly drawn by T’Mor.

=/\=Lieutenant Rainns, this is Cadet T’Mor from the Science Department. The DNA evidence has been examined, sir. We have concluded exactly three persons were at the scene: Ensign Pey, Commander Holmman, and one Ensign Alexis Kiriakou. I was advised to inform you of these findings directly.=/\=

And another nod of the CSO’s head was passed in the direction of the second cadet.

Riley nodded as his fellow cadet reported their findings. They seemed to work well together; they’d been moving from station to station with ease, and he knew from experience it wasn’t always that smooth. Some saw it as a competition, which made things… difficult.

He looked back to Lieutenant McMorran, studying her face, hoping to discern her response to his explanation. He couldn’t quite tell if she was still upset about his overstepping boundaries with the recommendation to secure the lab results. He saw another meeting in her office in his future. He found he was clutching the medallion in his pocket again, and slowly released it, pulling his hand out.

He flexed his hand a few times. He’d been gripping it hard.

Aili was still for a few moments, her eyes fell shut. The last hour had been unrelenting. A moment of recollection was a regular need for the CSO and she found it between sets of feedback.

She turned to Matthew as quickly as her eyes had reopened. Her lack of vision had shielded her from much of Riley’s agitation. However, she had come to expect it and as such made her approval clear. “I agree completely.” Another moment of contemplation passed. “I’d like you to do so yourself. You should be able to access all the relevant information through the computer. If not, I’m sure my codes will do the trick.”
