Kyle clicked his fingers, “Ah, that’s it. I knew I’d heard the name somewhere. And what a strange coincidence, surprised I didn’t notice before.”

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security-

Riley thanked the server as they dropped off his flan, then spun the spoon on the table. “Yeah, it was a big deal in that area, and according to my dad was taught in schools.” He shrugged. “But again, it is 600 years old.”

He slipped his spoon into the custard, the texture of its resistance so familiar. He gathered some of the caramel on the scoop and then brought it to his mouth. His eyes closed. Delicious. Not quite the best I’ve had, but this is what I needed.

He sighed in satisfaction, and took another bite.

Another server appeared behind Kyle several seconds later with a small bowl of creme brulee (OOC: Pretend there’s an accented ‘e’ there somewhere xD) Using a spoon that had been placed on the tables by the servers, Anders cracked the top of the burnt sugar with the blunt end of the spoon. The sugar gave a soft, yet satisfying crack. Kyle never tasted anything so sweet. He wiped a small blob of the creamy custard from the corner of his mouth and lent back in relaxation.

Riley pointed at the crème with his spoon, then swallowed his mouthful of flan. “I almost ordered that myself,” he said, chuckling, then took another bite of his dessert. He sighed again, moving the food around his mouth a few moments before swallowing. “Yeah, dessert was the right answer.”

He took another spoonful. “Have you met any of the other cadets? I met Cadet T’Mor in the labs today, but that’s it so far.”
